Drs. Matt and McKenna Gibson are genuinely dedicated to clinical excellence in dentistry, and they recognize that each patient is an individual with a unique set of dental challenges, concerns, and possible anxieties. They strongly believe in patient education and prevention in an effort to provide patients the most conservative and predictable approach to maintaining their dental health long-term. They have a passion for providing patients with the best dental care possible, regardless of what their treatment needs may be.
Dr. McKenna Gibson
Dr. McKenna Gibson loves being a dentist and serving her patients. Her passion is restorative dentistry and preventative care. She tries to make the overall dental experience fun (well, as fun as it can be) and educational.Prior to moving to North Alabama, McKenna practiced in New Braunfels, Texas, just outside of San Antonio. Just ask her to share some Texas stories!
McKenna graduated from the UAB School of Dentistry, where she served as Vice President of her class, and was recognized as the 2014 Dentist of the Year by the Birmingham District Dental Society. Prior to attending UAB, she was a Blue Raider at Middle Tennessee State University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from MTSU’s Honors College. McKenna is a true Tennessee girl, having been raised in McMinnville, Tennessee.
Dr. Matt Gibson
Dr. Matt Gibson is a native of Madison, Alabama, and a graduate of Bob Jones High School. He received his undergraduate degree from Auburn University and then went on to attend UAB School of Dentistry, where he graduated first in his class.
Matt completed additional training after dental school at the Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency at the Audie L. Murphy Veterans Affairs hospital in San Antonio, Texas, where he had the privilege and honor of helping many of our nation’s veterans. During this intense and comprehensive program, he learned how to deliver the highest quality care in restorative and cosmetic dentistry, full mouth reconstruction, dental implants, gum surgeries, sedation, Invisalign®, root canals, and other complex cases. This diverse experience allows him to approach cases with a multi-disciplinary perspective, delivering patients the best, longest-lasting results possible.
Life Outside of Dentistry
Even with two dentists married to each other, there is still life outside of dentistry. They try (although often unsuccessfully) to not talk about teeth outside of the office. He enjoys outdoor activities such as hunting and fishing. She loves spending her time being with her boys and crafting. They both enjoy anything sports related, especially football and basketball. Sorry Bama fans – He is a big fan of Auburn athletics and she is a Tennessee Volunteer at heart. At least they can agree on orange. They have two sons, Bo and Cooper, and two black labs, Tally and Tackle. They are members of Madison church of Christ.
